Job description
We’re looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to play a key role in the delivery of the River Lee Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Programme and subsequently other catchment programmes.

You’ll be expected to lead and set up a programme of work to ensure a catchment based approach to flood risk management. The role will include the co-ordination of the programme’s projects and focus on ensuring the projects align with the strategic programme aims.

Responsibilities include:

  • Programme planning and control, including initiation and development of pipeline projects on the River Lee;
  • Coordination and preparation of the business case for the River Lee programme.
  • Development and implementation of governance arrangements;
  • Resolving inter-project relationships (issues and opportunities)
  • Overseeing communications with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders (with support from engagement teams where appropriate) as well as managing programme-level risks and issues.
  • Maintaining an overview of on-going activities to exploit opportunities for holistic catchment management such as: natural flood management; modelling, opportunities to aid growth; partnership with key partners such as the Canals and Rivers Trust.

    The team
    This leadership role is part of the area FCRM Programme Team reporting to the Area Programme Manager. We form a core part of a network with colleagues in order to develop, manage and deliver FCRM programmes of work. The role will also form part of a national community working with colleagues in our national teams and across areas.

    Experience/skills required
    – A sound knowledge of Project and Programme Management. A Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O) and/or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) qualification are desirable but not essential.
    – Be able to work with diverse teams across disciplines, resolving critical issues to ensure programmes are planned, managed and delivered effectively.
    – Ability to manage budgets and prioritise activities and meet deadlines.
    – You can present convincing verbal and written advice and have a practical approach to problem solving as well as the ability to manage and engage with multiple stakeholders and partners.
