This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrically biased Maintenance Engineering Team Leader, Shift Manager or Senior Engineer, looking to take their first step into Engineering Management. We would also consider Engineering Managers who have recently (within the last 2 years) taken their first steps into Engineering Management.
Our client, an established Manufacturing business, are currently looking to appoint an experienced, Electrically biased Engineering professional to develop and lead the implementation of a “Best in Class” Engineering strategy.
The successful candidate will support budget delivery through the optimisation of asset care and machine uptime, providing leadership, training and coaching to the Engineering & Production maintenance teams.
Ideally educated to Degree level in Electrical Engineering or similar you should also hold formal electrical qualifications to a minimum of 17th Edition (18th Edition preferred)
Key responsibilities will include:
Assess current state and develop a site wide engineering strategy
Provide leadership, training and coaching to engineering & production maintenance teams.
Hands-on breakdown repairs and improvement work.
Effective project management of Safety, CI and plant installation projects.
Set and control engineering cost budget for all departments.
Facilities management responsibility for site.
Ensure contractor adherence to site H&S rules.
Ensure departmental compliance with AS9100D & IATF 16949.
Develop standard repair times and measure adherence.
Introduce and improve departmental KPI’s (eg MTTB, MTTR, downtime, quality).
Establish and continuously improve a PPM system for all plant, building up a history of plant reliability/failures.
Introduce effective condition monitoring for key assets.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required:
Time-Served Multi-Skilled Engineer with an Electrical Bias
Previous experience of managing and developing a team of multi-skilled engineering professionals
Strong SME experience across the following industry sectors – Automotive, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical or FMCG
Strong PLC knowledge
Previous experience and knowledge of IATF 16949 would be extremely beneficial
Previous experience of developing and implementing PPM programs
Relevant Health & Safety legislation knowledge
Previous experience in the development and implementation of Reliability Excellence programs
Knowledge of “Best Practice” tools including Autonomous Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance
