Job description
We need an experienced Project / Programme Support Officer to help us deliver our varied programme of major improvements. This role provides critical support to programme activity, including financial monitoring, undertaking the governance board secretariat role, information management, resource management and assisting project leads in meeting their programme responsibilities. It is an exciting opportunity to be part of an evolving team and shape the Programme Support Officer role. There is one permanent role available. There may also be other short term assignment / fixed term PSO opportunities available through this process.

The team
The Incident Management Programmes Team manages the delivery of national, high risk, critical business change projects on behalf of the IM&R Directorate. It is a newly formed team within ‘IM&R Service Management’, that will bring together two existing change programmes: ‘Major Incident Ready2’ and ‘Flood Incident Management’.

Experience/skills required
The successful candidate is expected to have experience of supporting projects or a programme within a formal PPM environment (Prince 2/MSP/Agile). You will have excellent organisation and planning skill,s and financial awareness. Attention to detail is essential. You will have the ability, training, flexibility and confidence to juggle between multiple projects of different scales and at different stages.

You need be comfortable working to tight deadlines, using your initiative and managing your own workload. Experience of using Microsoft office tools, including Microsoft Project, is desirable.
