About the Job
The Seaglaze Group are now recruiting for 2 x Trainee Shopfloor Operatives. No experience is necessary; just a willingness to learn, be flexible and have a great work ethic. Duties include; handling and processing glass which includes cutting, polishing and manufacturing of double glazed and laminated units as well as learning other skills such as how to safely use machinery for the CNC, drilling, grinding and working on assembly and so a willingness to learn new things is essential.
Basic hours are 45 per week Monday to Friday with up to 6 hours overtime as needed. This position will involve working shifts between 06:00 – 22:00 with Saturday or some Sunday working where customer demands are high.
Qualifications / Experience
The successful candidate will be working on the shopfloor producing high quality glass for the commercial and marine sectors and products for the boat building industry.
This is a manual role and so you will need to be physically fit as lifting will form part of your working day. You will be responsible for keeping your work area clean and tidy and ensuring good communication with your team members and supervisors. Everyone is expected to uphold Company values and shopfloor standards and adhere to the Company’s health, safety and quality guidelines. You must be a pleasant, enthusiastic team player who is willing to learn and who wants to be a part of a growing company where each day can be different. A ‘can do’ and positive attitude is essential.
Salary & Benefits
The core rate of pay is based on minimum wage for the first 3 months of your learning (probationary period). An enhanced overtime rate is included for overtime working and a Company pension is offered upon successful completion of the probationary period. Based in Rackheath near Norwich, the Seaglaze Group are a family owned company that has been established for half a century. We employ 50 staff across our 2 factories, manufacturing high quality, bespoke products ranging from specialised glass to products for the boat building industry.
